In a groundbreaking move, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that seven Caribbean nations will partner with the United States to co-host the 2024 T20 World Cup.


 The event is expected to become the biggest in cricket history, marking the first time the United States has hosted a major cricket tournament.


 Scheduled to take place from June 4 to  30, the tournament will see 20 teams compete in 55 matches across 10 different venues.


 The geographical expansion, with matches held in three US cities – Dallas, Florida and New York – and seven Caribbean countries, has earned the event the  T20 World Cup title. largest” by ICC chief executive Geoff Allardice.


 While the official announcement did not specify the location of the knockout matches, insiders have revealed that Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago will host the Super Eights and the final.  Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Kensington Oval in Barbados are considered the favorites for this prestigious final.


 The selection of these venues is the result of a coordinated effort between the ICC and Cricket West Indies, taking into account bids put forward by local authorities.


 The decision to host the T20 World Cup is seen as an opportunity to open up new economic and business opportunities for the Caribbean region.


 It should be noted that three countries, Jamaica, Grenada and Saint Kitts and Nevis, have not yet submitted their bids and will not host any matches.


 Of the 55 scheduled matches, about 39 or 40 will be played in the Caribbean, with the remaining 15 or 16  in the United States. This historic event marks the third time a men's World Cup has been held in the West Indies,  the previous editions being the 2007 ODI World Cup and the 2010 World T20.


 Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies, expressed enthusiasm at the positive response from a number of countries in hosting this important sporting event, while emphasizing the region's economic growth potential. its area.


 The 2024 T20 World Cup kicks off a series of eight global men's  events in the ICC business cycle from 2024 to 2031.


 The tournament will also have a different format, with 20 teams divided into four groups in the first round, followed by the Super 8 round and the knockout round.
