PCB 'dismisses' objections over players support for Palestinians | Bat N Ball


 LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team, currently participating in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, has shown strong support and shared  prayers for all Palestinians who are suffering at the hands of of Israel. 

However, many questions have been  raised by Indian fans and cricket experts about the players' continued support for Palestine, asking the ICC - the match's governing body - whether such moves are allowed in the tournament or not. 

According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has dismissed objections regarding the  players' conduct stating: 





"It is a personal decision to show team solidarity." core." 

Pakistan's national team  posted a photo of the Palestinian flag on their personal X account, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday to show  solidarity with Palestine and pray for its people are suffering, including children. 



Earlier, Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan dedicated the team's victory over Sri Lanka to his "brothers and sisters in Gaza". 

Meanwhile, Indian fans and cricket experts used the team's support for Palestine to create controversy, claiming that the national team had violated ICC regulations. 

The PCB source added that the team “was allowed to express whatever they wanted” and that the players “did not violate any ICC or PCB code of conduct”. 

Gaza's Ministry of Health  reports that at least 3,061 Palestinians have been killed and more than 13,750 others injured as a result of Israeli bombing. 

Pakistan strongly condemns the Israeli atrocities and calls for an immediate end to the bombings, not even sparing hospitals or schools, to show solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters mine. 

Even Pakistani cricket legends who are no longer part of the team have shown their support for Palestine. 

Furthermore, Pakistan is scheduled to play Australia tomorrow (Friday) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore after a few days  rest.
