The United States and West Indies are set to host the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup  next summer, with 20 teams vying for the coveted trophy.

Qualifying teams will go through the first stage, after being divided into four groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 round, where they will  again be divided into two groups of four.

From there, the top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals, eventually leading to the championship match.

No major event in cricket is  complete without a match between arch-rivals Pakistan and India, considered one of the most important rivalries in the sport. Likewise, the two will face off again in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) will soon reveal the venue for the much-anticipated clash between the arch-rivals, Cricbuzz reported  on Wednesday.

The site is expected to be built near  Long Island, about 30 miles east of Manhattan, in New York's Eisenhower Park.

An announcement will  be made soon after negotiations between the ICC and  New York City officials are complete.

The original plan was to build the ground in the Bronx but after facing  serious opposition from residents near the park and one of the cricket leagues  based in the same park, the ICC withdrew. It is worth noting that Pakistan's last encounter with India in an ICC event took place at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground during the 2022 T20 World Cup, where Virat Kohli played one of the most memorable innings as he led the struggling Blues team to victory.

The two had previously met at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium during the 2021 T20 World Cup, where  Babar Azam-led Pakistan recorded their maiden win over India in an ICC event as the Green scored a spectacular victory with 10 goals.
